Marotta is a seaside - resort located in the province of Pesaro and Urbino. The territory is divided into three municipalities: Mondolfo, Fano and San Costanzo. The beach of Marotta fall under the European Blue Flag beaches.
To the north borders we find the town of Ponte Sasso (town of Fano), south to the town of Cesano (municipality of Senigallia), to the west and San Costanzo Mondolfo and on the eastern side the 6 km long strech of coast and the Adriatic Sea. To the south the Cesano river marks the border between the province of Pesaro-Urbino and the province of Ancona. Along the coastline alternating zones of sandy beaches and rocky shore, while the bottom is uniformly sandy.

Marotta is crossed by the SS 16 Adriatica motorway A14 (exit Marotta-Mondolfo) and the railway line Bologna-Ancona (Marotta-Mondolfo station) as regards rail transport.
The urban and intercity buses are guaranteed by a service conducted by the companies Bucci, Vitali and the group Adriabus.
 

Local Fiests and celebrations - Every year since 1948 in the end of the month of April the Festival of the tipical Garagoi is held in Marotta. The Garagoi, commonly known as pie 'pelican (from the popularization of the scientific name Aporrhais pespelecani), are small sea mollusks that live in salt water. And are found especially in the area of sea that goes from Rimini to Ancona. In the area of ancona they are called spreaders (crocette).

In 1544, Pope Paul III erected a plaque to put an end to border disputes between Mondolfo and Fano. So far, this marks the boundary between the Diocese of Senigallia and that of Fano, and the boundary between the town of Mondolfo and the town of Fano. Contented in the last century by two municipalities, it has been recently restored and placed on a old tavern. Part of the text has been lost since it has become unreadable over time.
