Description IL Casale Castiglione del Lago

The Casale (Farmhouse) is located just 2 kilometres from Castiglione del Lago, surrounded by 15 hectares of land; it enjoys a magnificent view of the typical Umbria-Tuscany countryside, of terrains and private woods, along the road leading to the Val d'Orcia, one of the most fascinating areas Tuscany and of Italy.

The central hall, with its grand rustic fireplace, is currently used as an Enoteca and "Zupperia", for the rediscover of antique flavours and the tasting of typical products.

An extensive outdoor space equipped with barbecue allows for outdoor cooking and eating.
The pleasure of the house therefore, is that it unites you with that which is the countryside, for an extremely relaxing and recharging vacation.

Golf lovers can be at the “Club del Golf” (18 hole) in Perugia in just a short time. 

Besides being immersed in the green of surrounding meadows there is a 7x20 m swimming pool, the largest of its kind. 
It’s the ideal environment for relaxing, for talking long walks and for bird watching, all while being just minutes from the lake and town.

On-site Horse Riding:
There is the possibility of going on horseback excursions along the splendid paths running along Lago Trasimeno;
personalized riding lessons both Western and English

The Casale offers 8 apartments which can house up to 32 people:


Available to our guests are Mountain-bikes, a pure-breed horse
for the experts, and 15 hectares of land with private woods.

Apartment TERRAZZA 1 - TERRAZZA 2 - twins
Sleeping places 2 + 2 + 2 
These apartments located side by side, have access to the same large terrace.
Being on the first floor, they face the swimming pool from a large panoramic terrace: in the first room of 30 m². has been placed a kitchenette with table, a small TV room, double sofa bed and at the side the bathroom with shower, which having two doors allows the independent entrance from each bedroom. 
The 2 rooms of 30m² and double bedroom, each with independent access to the bathroom. 
Due to the particularity of the 6 metre ceiling, a loft with a writing desk was installed and, if needed, an additional double bed can.

Apartment LOGGIA
Sleeping places 2 + 2 
Characterized by an exterior loggia, from which you can admire enchanting sunsets atop the private woods, tasting a good bottle of “Nobile di Montepulciano” wine, which we produce, with a typical bruschetta sprinkled with extra-virgin olive oil produced from our olive groves.
The interior is comprised of a spacious hall/living room of 30 m². in which has been placed a kitchenette, table, and a small living room with a double sofa bed. 
From here you enter a double bedroom with, at its left, the bathroom with shower. 

Apartment PISCINA
Sleeping places 2 + 2 
The only first floor apartment, it is furnished with an external gazebo for eating outdoors.
The first room is made up of a kitchenette with table, small TV room with double sofa bed, a double bedroom, and in the middle, the bathroom with shower which given its central location ensures the maximum privacy and access by both bedrooms.

Products

Upon arrival, you can, upon seeing it, decide if you want to eat in the inside Locanda with our typical Umbrian products and those from Lago Trasimeno, available also is a child’s menu.

Reserve on-site horseback riding, for long rides along the paths running along Lago Trasimeno or in the private woods.
       
Yuri and Roberto, with their catamaran, organizes some splendid excursions on Lago Trasimeno for 2 to 12 people at a time; for simple half-day tours of the island, or with aperitifs or dinner on-board.
   
Not to be missed is the bike path that follows along almost the entire perimeter of Lago Trasimeno; it is possible to rent bikes
for the week or by the day.

Thanks to the strategic geographical location of the Casale, from the medieval village of Castiglione and from the lake shore, the most fascinating places of Val d’Orcia and of Val di Chiana, can be easily reached.  Among those are, Siena (78 km) Bagno Vignoni (40 km) Montalcino (48 km) Montepulciano (30 km) Cortona (20 km) Arezzo (45 km);
or towards Umbria: Perugia (38 km) Foligno (78 km ) Assisi (68 km).
